	Bohai Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. (BSHIC),the former Bohai Shipyard, is one of the principal enterprises subsidiary to China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation. Stockholders include CSIC, China Development Bank, China Huarong Asset Management Corporation and China Cinda Asset Management Corporation. BSHIC is a modern large coast versatile factory in China for shipbuilding, repairing, steel structure processing, metallurgy equipment and large hydroelectric equipment fabricating and also the official research base for localizing the important technical equipment. BSHIC borders on the northern coast of Bohai Gulf, and the famous Huludao Port is located in the center of BSHIC. The yard was established in 1953, covers 3,600,000m2 .Now the Registered Fund has up to RMB One Billion and Twenty-Seven Million. BSHIC has various kinds of advanced equipment, such as the seven-span type indoor shipbuilding berth largest in China, outdorr berths covering more than 20,000m2 ,unique 40,000 tonnage class dual-stage water-filled dry-dock, the largest indoor bridge cranes in China which have the combined lifting capacity of 640 tons by two cranes joint operation, and the new 294m*50m semi-submerged slipway (100,000 tonnage class), with 46,000m2 welding & assembling areas and 480 tons of crane, capacity where could build various vessels up to 170,000DWT.Shipbuilding capacity reaches 300,000 tons per annual, and the Sales Income of foreign currency is near USD One Hundred Million per annual. BSHIC has built various vessels more than 160 so far, and developed new products more than 40. Many products gained the National Essential Technical Facilities Award and the New National Product Award. The certificate of ISO9002 was attained in 1994 and the Authority of Import and Export directly was allowed in 1996.Huludao Bohai Shipbuilding Import &Export Corporation Limited was founded in 1997. Since 1995, BSHIC joined actively in the competition of international shipbuilding market and contracted with various owners in the world, such as Germany, USA, Singapore and etc., built more than 13 export vessels.In2001March, BSHIC contracted with COSCO for three 159,000DWT Crude Oil Tankers. It's the largest vessel built by Chinese yard for Chinese owner. The same are designed built and inspected first time by Chinese themselves.
