	Jiangsu Eastern Shipyard
	Jingjiang SUMEC shipyard (JSS) is located at the north end of Jiangyin Changjiang Bridge, has a waterlines of 1200m and a work area of 280,000m2, is specialized in shipbuilding, ship-repairing, ship-breaking, steel structure anticorrosion, steel plate pretreatment and producing of special coating. JSS has more than 800 staffs and workers. Of them, 280 are technicians, who are all specialized in different kinds of trainings. JSS has over 150 workers withⅡand Ⅲ class certificates approved by CCS, ABS, BV, LR, GL, DNV, KR, NK. JSS has a complete set of facilities and equipments, suitable for building & repairing all kinds of ships under 80,000 DWT and construction of steel structure. Now JSS has a semi-dock slipway of 260m long and 61m wide, which is capable for building 80,000t ships, this slipway is equipped with one unit of 100t gantry crane and one unit of 200t gantry crane. JSS also has a longitudinal slipway of 200m long and 32m wide, which is capable for building 20,000t ships; this slipway is equipped with one unit of 150t portal crane. JSS also has a prefabrication platform of area 60,000m2 for building block; this platform is equipped with 20t, 50t portal cranes and 20t, 75t, 100t gantry cranes. We have a workshop for plat section production which is equipped two units of 20t bridge cranes and a workshop for structural components production which is equipped with three units of NC cutting machine, one units of light-electrical hunt NC cutting machine, 500t and 300t oil press machine，edge miller of 12.5m long. The steel plate pretreatment production line, section second shot-blasting shop and the deep-water wharf for berthing 30,000t ships are fully equipped. Monthly net steel fabrication capacity is more than 2500t. JSS has various advanced type of nondestructive detection machines and physical & chemical test equipments. JSS has established its Quality Control System for shipbuilding in accordance with ISO9002. JSS insists on its quality goal “keep up quality first, ensure quality input, optimize quality control system, satisfy owner and classification society’s demand”. JSS has already export 128 units of various type vessels such as deck cargo barges, floating docks, motor ships, derrick barges, special engineering ships to many countries and regions such as Japan, Singapore, Netherlands, Indonesia, Thailand, South Korea, Malaysia, Hongkong. All of these ships are approved respectively by ABS, LR, KR, GL, NK, DNV, BV and CCS. Since 1994 JSS was elected by Jingjiang city as “Advanced Company for keeping contract and credit” for several years.
