	Shanghai Shipyard
	Shanghai Shipyard is one of the Large backbone state Enterprises Subordinated to China State Shipbuilding groups Corporation, (CSSC), which concentrates on Shipbuilding, Ship-repairing and diesel engine manufacturing. The shipyard also expands its activities for large Steel Structure, offshore engineering, marine accessories, casting and forging, bronze art products, pressure containers, pneumatic tools, electronic alarm, real estate and hotel services etc. It is located in Pudong New Area and Yangpu District and divided into two parts by Huangpu River. The shipyard occupied a field area of about 600,000 square meters. The shoreline of quay extended to a length of 1500 meters. Two slipways have been set up, one of them is for ships up to 30,000dwt and the other 60,000dwt. One floating dock for ships up to 35,000dwt as well as two dry docks for ships up to 80,000dwt and 40,000dwt are rehabilitaing in the shipyard. More than 2,300 sets of various equipments are in its possession. The total property values up to 2300 million yuan. At Present, there are about 7800 workers and staffs members including 1574 various professionals. Shanghai Shipyard has been granted ISO9001 Quality System Certificate. According to the requirements for establishing modern enterprises system and modern shipbuilding and ship-repairing, our shipyard carries out undertaking department system. There are five undertaking departments twelve joint-ventured enterprises, more than ten tertiary business companies and five holding or part-holding joint stock companies. Pass through major technical renovation invested by the State in Seventh, Eighth, Ninth "five-year plan" periods, Shanghai Shipyard has annual productivity of Shipbuilding up to 165,000dwt (six Ships), value of output for ship-repairing up to 300million yuan and the capacity for Steel Structure up to 30,000tons. It is becoming an important base ground for Shipbuilding, Ship-repairing and large steel Structure production in China. Shanghai Shipyard can build various kinds of ships under 60,000dwt, such as bulk carriers, multi-purpose vessels, container ships, refrigerator ships, ro-ro ships, passenger ships and tugs etc. Shanghai Hudong Heavy Machinery Shangchuan Diesel Co., Ltd. can manufacture various types of low speed marine diesel engines of Sulzer and Man-B&W series. Ship-repairing Department can repair various types of ships under 120,000dwt, expertly in especial for major overhaul and reform for ship, rush reparing of sea accident. The rush repairing technology for high difficulty ships, such as LPG ships, ro-ro ships and container ships is coming to maturity. Shanghai Shipyard possesses great capacity for building and reforming offshore engineering, various kinds of steel structure bridges and architectural engineering of tower buildings. Shanghai Shipyard has built several kinds of advanced contemporary ships in China. such as 283,000cu.ft. refrigerator ships, 12,600dwt, 21,000dwt, and 30,000dwt multi-purpose container vessels, 39,800dwt broad-shallow draft bulk carrier, 24000dwt log bulk carrier. 48,000dwt bulk carriers and 1600teu high-speed container ships. Now 35,000dwt heavy lift multi-purpose vessels and 3100 tell container ships are being built and to be built in our shipyard. We also pre-research 300,000cu.ft, 450,000cu.ft and 600,000cu.ft, new type refrigerator ships, 12,600dwt multi-purpose container-ship series and coastal ferry boats etc.
